First of all I would like to state that I'm not the most experienced linux user :-)
Okay here comes my problem. I have been trying to install CentOS 5.4 x86_64 on my SuperMicro 1025C-3 server, but it fails in the installation because it can't find the disks (probably due to the LSI controller). Now since sas1068e is quite old I had the understanding that it was supported.Okay what I did next was to try to find a driver that could be used during the installation. I went to LSI homepage and found the driver package called MPTLINUX_RHEL5_SLES10_PH18-4.22.00.00-1.zip, unzipping and locating the driver mptlinux-4.22.00.00-1-rhel5.4.x86_64.dd.gz this I unpacked and burned the .img file to a CD.Next I started the installation again and on the startup I used the linux dd command and I was prompted for a driver CD. But after this I was presented with the an error message "unable to mount drive".
Anybody ideas on how to go on in my efforts in trying to install??
